The definition of green building

Let's first look at the definition of green building as provided by the USGBC:

Green building is a holistic concept that starts with the understanding that the build environment can have profound effects, both positive and negative, on the natural environment, as well as the people who inhabit buildings every day. Green building is an effort to amplify the positive and mitigate the negative of these effects throughout the entire life cycle of a building.

While there are many different definitions of green building out there, it is generally accepted as the planning, design, construction, and operations of buildings with several central, foremost considerations: energy use, water use, indoor environmental quality, material section and the building's effects on its site.

As related to this definition, Suds Sentry Washing Machine Pan brings sustainable, green design to the laundry room of any single or multi family residence through minimizing wasted water and increasing the life cycle of all products in and near the laundry room.  A washing machine with a slow constant leak or major overflow can result in preventable remodeling.  Suds Sentry's pans are  solid polystyrene construction meant to last years and are designed to integrate into the laundry room for a complete professional finish.

SPDP Solutions is a proud environmental steward in the design and distribution of our Suds Sentry product line.

Sustainable or environmental design is the philosophy of designing products compliant with the principles of social, economic, and ecological sustainability. Suds Sentry washing machine drain systems mitigate the risk of water damage in the laundry area and adjoining areas and floors of multi-family residences and single family residences by preventing the need for rebuilding, remodeling and repair following a water incident related to a washing machine leak or overflow.

Suds Sentry meets emotionally durable design by reducing consumption and waste of resources through design.  Read more about the ASID Sustainable Design Principles.

Damage from washing machines

A study from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety rated washing machine related water damage as 1 of 10 most common forms of water damage, easily exceeding $2500 damage.

Water damage can quickly become a pricey repair. Factor in cleaning and restoration fees, flooring repair, repair to doors, trim and walls along with electrical damage and furnishings can be an overwhelming repair ticket for any homeowner, facility or property manager.

Braided hoses offer a strong water connection and disaster drain pan systems, like Suds Sentry, can quickly route the water safely down the drain rather than through the home or between the floors of an apartment complex.

Suds Sentry in-floor installation of polystyrene trays offers stable options for different installation configurations, newer front end loading machines, white or latte color to coordinate with flooring  and meet the high performance, better and more functional designs for modern laundry rooms that both homeowners and residents desire and architects and specifiers can trust.

Customers in the multi-family laundry market are can include apartments, condos, college and university residence halls, and military bases, among other multi-housing locations.  Units may have their own laundry facilities or use general use facilities that are located on several levels of the building.  Suds Sentry protects the flooring and surrounding area of the laundry room and guards against costly repair and material waste.
